The actual and printed commercial 45 run time of Rex Smith/Rachel Sweet's "Everlasting Love" is 3:29. (These timings are courtesy of abagon.) This is a significant finding because database CD appearances of this song run from 3:38-3:43. That said, we're likely dealing with a version or length difference between the 45 and LP. I will look into acquiring a dub of the 45 for further investigation, but until then can anyone provide further insight into the time difference?

Thanks to some assistance from my good friend edtop40, I have confirmed that the commercial 45 of Rex Smith/Rachel Sweet's "Everlasting Love" is an early fade of the 3:42 length as it appears on the After the Love various artist CD (Sony Music Special Products 22205). I'm guessing the 3:42 time is reflective of the song's length as it appears on Rex Sweet's Everlasting Love vinyl LP on Columbia from 1981, but I don't have the LP to check. If anyone has it who can pass along the song's run time, that would be wonderful.

FWIW, this (European) collection appears to have the single length: http://www.discogs.com/Various-The-80s-Collection-1981-Alive -And-Kicking/release/1649243

This is a tough-to-find charter. Could anyone who has an LP length dub of this allow me to hear it at etidjATverizon.net ?
I seem to recall when this was out I thought it was a really lame version of the outstanding composition. But I wonder what I'll think of it now!
Thanks!
Andy
