The actual commercial 45 run time of Teena Marie's "I Need Your Lovin'" is 3:35, not 3:36 as stated on the record label. (These timings are courtesy of abagon.) I only post this information because, although the database does a decent job identifying CDs where the 45 version runs excessively long, there are a number of discs that are simply marked as "45 version" yet have a run time ranging from 3:33-3:40.

My copy of "Hitsville USA - The Motown Singles Collection 1972-1992" includs "I Need Your Lovin'" on disc 2. However, the database does not reflect the song's inclusion on the set.

The version on Hitsville (1993) sounds superb, and
is from very low-generation source tapes. It runs about
15 seconds longer than the 45. The LP version runs 7:30.

Simitar's Number Ones Silky Soul uses the same
analog transfer as Hitsville. Hip-O's Ultimate
Collection
is a digital clone of Hitsville,
but with additional compression and a slightly smiley-
face EQ - go with Hitsville if you have a choice.

At the bottom of the heap, PolyGram's Pure Disco
uses the true 45 source tapes, and runs the proper 3:34
45 length. But the source tapes sound terrible, and are
super-phasey when summed to mono. Avoid.

If you want to accurately recreate the 45, add a 24-beat
fade to Hitsville from 3:22.6 to 3:35.8.
