Does anyone have a radio edit for the song "Understanding" by Xscape and, if so, is it the same as the version running 4:17 on the various artist CD Hits of 1994 (Sony Music Special Products 31356)?

FYI, I had the 45 for "Understanding" b/w "Just Kickin' It (Remix)", and I recall that it was very long, with a printed running time of close to 6 minutes. I'll check if I still have it.

My research indicates the single and album version are the same, both with a run time of 5:40. It's the DJ promo single I'm not sure about. I'm wondering if it might contain the 4:17 version appearing on the Hits of 1994 CD?

TM Century's library has the full 5:40 version, and during this era they used the promo singles for almost everything that showed up on their discs. Of course, there's always the possibility that they used a commercial single or the full-length CD as the source...or the possibility that more than one promo single exists, with one having the 5:40 version.

Ed, my laptop is still down. Quickly checking in here on my Mom's computer. I have added your request to earlier Spice Girls/Cher queries, and I will get you guys the requested info absolutely as soon as I'm finally back up and running - thanks for your patience.

Guys, we got in two separate promo CD singles for this song. FYI, we played the "LP Version" in 1994:
Xscape-"Understanding" (CSK 77335)
1-LP Version (listed 5:40; actual 5:41)
Xscape-"Understanding" (REMIX) (CSK 5667) (FYI, the bold print "REMIX" appears on both the CD itself, and the jewel case paper insert, even though the term only appears to apply to Cut TWO of the promo CD single!)
1-(Non-Described version, which appears to be the LP Version) (listed 5:42; actual 5:41)
2-Sexual Healing Mix (listed & actual 4:18)
The "Sexual Healing Mix", from my second promo CD single, would appear to clarify exactly where the (4:17) version had originally come from.
