Unfortunately this song never broke into the top 40 so therefore isn't listed in the database but Grand Funk Railroad was one of, if not THE, biggest post-Beatles bands in the states.
I haven't found a used 45 on ebay to get to compare to all the 6:35 version I have of Heartbreaker. So...
1) What is the length of the 45 version?
2) Can it be duplicated from the lp version and how so?
3) Or is the 45 version available on CD
Thanks

There was a side discussion of this song in the "Gimme Shelter" thread a couple weeks ago.
My promo copy is listed as 4:05 on one side and 6:30 on the other. I haven't actually timed out the record. Someone else mentioned that the commercial 45 had the 6:30 version.

Anyone have the edits to create the 4:05 promo version or is it just a fade?

Hykker was kind enough to pass along a copy so here's what I came up with.
I used the Collectors Series as it is less compressed.
Cut from 1:10 - 1:29 on the "take" of "can't take her."
Cut what is now 1:50 - 2:09 on the downbeat of 1 or on the "can't" of can't take her."
Cut what is now 2:48 to 4:12 Start with the final down beat (or peak) before the quite guitar sole and resume on the final downbeat (or peak) before guitar solo at 4:12
Finally cut what is now 3:24 - 3:36. Tricky one this. I used a small peak before the downbeat of "heart" on "heartbreaker." Seemed to sound cleaner than right on the downbeat but you can experiment.
Final time. 4:15 on promo mp3 sent to me. 4:16 on my edit.
