After what I believe has been more than a year since the last installment of this Hip-O Select series (Volume 5) was issued, I have just seen an entry on Amazon for (and pre-ordered) Volume 6, which should be resuming with 45s released around the spring of 1969. As of now, the tentative release date is slated for late next month, January 27th of 2009.

I noticed this too, Jim, and am very excited about Hip-O Select's upcoming James Brown The Singles Volume 6 set because it will mark the CD debut of two Top 40 hits: "Brother Rapp (Parts 1 & 2)" and "World (Part 1)"! Amazon originally indicated a release date of December 9 for this compilation, but evidently Hip-O Select elected to push back the date. In the end, I anticipate it will be worth the wait!
