although not in the db, this forgetful song peaked at #39 in the spring of 1981.....the question is can the 45 be extracted from the cd version??...i have the song on cd from "then:totally oldies"....but as we've seen it's NOT the 45 version...

Ed, the version on the Totally Oldies CD is the LP version, and unfortunately, it's also a vinyl transfer. There's some good news, though. First, the vinyl transfer on that CD is really good, despite the fact that it is faded slightly early. Second, the 45 can be extracted from the LP version, although there's a tricky edit or two, from what I can remember.

It's possible to make the 45 version from the LP version (Self titled vinyl LP "GET WET".)
Do the copy from 2:51 to 3:04 (Lyric from "Lonely just...."), and paste it at 3:04.
Erase from 3:15 to the end. Do the strong fadeout from 2:58 around. (Actual running time 3:14)
