While creating my 1972 comp, I added the track "You Said A Bad Word" from the Rhino "Very Best Of" CD. When I played the track, I suddenly realized something was not right. It seemed like something was missing. So, I pulled up my needledrop of the "I Gotcha" LP and played the track. It sounded right again, just like 1972. There was a keyboard part that is missing from the CD version. Also, the tambourine wasn't in the left channel. Then, to be sure, I pulled out my original 1972 (Dial D-1012) stereo 45 of the song, and, sure enough, the keyboard part is there, and the tambourine is where it should be!

I looked in the database and saw that there is no mention of a different mix. Pat, if you have the commercial 45, you might want to verify my finding and note it in the database.

I do not have any of the other CDs in the database, so I cannot check the 45 against them.

While I do not have the vinyl 45 of "You Said A Bad Word" I do have the LP "I Gotcha" that includes this track and yes there is a tambourine on the LP that is not on any of the cd's in the database. So based on your comment that the 45 matches the vinyl LP, then all cd's in the database are missing some overdubs.
