I remember reading a while back someone mentioning the promo remix edit could be recreated from the full 12" mix. Has anyone tried it? I remember attempting, but I think something might have not worked out right. Maybe I messed up...anyone? Thanks!

Nope, it cannot be re-created from the 12" mix. The opening drum beats and the fade out of the edited version are unique.

However, the opening drum beats are on the dub version of Dress You Up, which is on the Japanese maxi CD single, so it's only necessary to take the fade out from vinyl.

Thanks for confirming that, Brian. Is the dub version on the other import singles, too?

It looks like it is on the UK CD single as well.

Does anyone have a good rip of the vinyl? I ended up editing the two mixes together, but need an ending.

I know this is old, but I'm still looking for a clean rip of the vinyl. Anyone? Thanks!
