Since Prince has been a topic the last week or so, I've seen details of an 'Album Edit' for "7" that is listed as 4:23.
Does anyone have a promo CD single that lists the different versions? Which got airplay, the 45 version or the 'Album Edit'?

The only copy of this I have is on TM-Century HitDisc 967, and it has a listed time of 5:04.
I don't remember hearing it much on the radio, but this was a period I didn't listen to much CHR.

I always heard the 45 version in my area. I believe the album edit is on the commercial maxi-single, and one of the promos (there were three) has the same (or very similar) tracks as the commercial maxi-single. The other two promos are a 1-track with just the acoustic version and a 2-track with the acoustic and album versions.
