Edtop40 just sent me an mp3 of "All She Wants To Do Is Dance," and I'll be darned! It's a remix! Looks like we have another top 40 hit that's never been released on CD in its 45 version, unless someone knows where to locate this mix.
The 45 version has an added electronic high hat, and the intro is extended by one measure. Also the ending of the 45 is slightly different than the LP version in the way that the last choruses repeat.
I checked my 12" single of this song, and the 45 is not an edit of the 12" mix. It is a seperate mix of its own.

I'll be darned! As a long time Eagles/Don Henley fan, I never knew the commercial 45 of "All She Wants to Do Is Dance" was a remix! I always thought the version played on radio was the same as the LP version, but I guess this single mix has somehow managed to fly under the radar all this time!
Aaron, what is the actual run time of the 45 Ed e-mailed you via mp3?

The 45 is the one with someone (might be Henley, might be someone else) kind of grunting during the drum opening, yes?
I recall both versions getting quite a bit of airplay (I was a sophomore in college when the single was released--guess I just gave away my age :) ).

Yes, that's correct, Doug. The drum intro is extended by one measure, and you hear someone going "uggghhhh" right before the rest of the instruments come in. Also, as I mentioned earlier, the electronic high hat doesn't come in on the LP version until about :20 in; however it is present right from the opening drums on the 45.
I noticed one other difference, too, aside from my notes above: the synthesizer "horn" that solos a few times during the song is panned to the right on the LP version, whereas it is centered on the 45 mix.

By the way, Todd, the run time of the 45 is (4:26), although I believe the 45's face states (4:23).

The actual commercial 45 running time is (4:26), the listed time is "4:23" on the record label. (Geffen 7-29065)

Although this song has the printed vs. actual run time differences of :03 or more, the information has not be indicated on the data base. My report is the same as the aaronk's info.
