I just noticed in the database updates that the new "Playlist: Very Best Of Gloria Estefan" CD contains the very rare 45 versions of "Bad Boy" and "Falling In Love (Uh Oh)". This is very good news for seekers of 80s 45 versions, as the only other CD appearance of these 2 was on a very rare compilation from the late 80s (a forum member was kind enough to send me a CDR).

Kudos to whoever has been compiling the "Playlist" series as they have taken the effort to include some rare 45 versions on some of them, such as "Two Tickets To Paradise" on the Eddie Money CD and several hard-to-find versions on the Hall & Oates CD. Unfortunately, the Earth, Wind & Fire Playlist CD missed the opportunity to include the 45 version of "Fall In Love With Me" (the song is not even on the CD at all). The 45 version of that song is a unique mix that has never been released on any CD to my knowledge.

That is good news. It's too bad they didn't include the single mix of "Betcha Say That", though. I don't think that one's every been on any CD, not even promo and not foreign. And being that it was a top low top 40 hit, it would have been a perfect thing for "Playlist".

That's good news. I have the Hall & Oates Playlist CD and was shocked to find that the mastering is not overly compressed and loud. Hopefully, the Gloria Estefan Playlist CD sounds as good as Hall & Oates--can anyone confirm this?

To EdisonLite:

Are you sure that on the above mentioned promo CD 'Hits' "Betcha Say That" isn't the single version? (It's about 3:37.)

Amazon lists some of the songs on Estefan's "Playlist" as "single version" but not "Bad Boy." I have a version of "Bad Boy" that's similar to the single mix but actually neither the single or album mix. Can anyone with the "Playlist" CD verify that this is truly the single mix and not a neo-single mix?

Definitely a good idea confirm if this is the correct 45 version. The "Essential" CD from a few years back contained what was purported to be the 45 version, but that turned out to be the non-U.S. 45 version which was remixed and had some sections rearranged.

For some reason, the Miami Sound Machine 45 versions have been very elusive on CD (outside of the 1988 promo hits compilation which is extremely rare).
