While trying to determine which CD in my collection contains the best sounding master of Frankie Valli's "Can't Take My Eyes off You", I notice the song contains reverb on the Greatest Hits Volume 2 CD (Rhino 70595), yet sounds "dry" on the In Season - The Frankie Valli & the 4 Seasons Anthology (Rhino 74266) compilation.
Would someone who has "Can't Take My Eyes off You" on commercial 45 and/or on Valli's parent 1967 vinyl LP Solo be so kind to report if the song is "dry" or contains the reverb?

It sounds like a little "extra" stereo reverb is on on Greatest Hits Volume 2" CD, all other CD sources I have contain some mono reverb on Frankie's voice, including Anthology, which seems to match the mono single.
I don't know what matches the original LP or stereo DJ 45.(I have a stereo DJ 45 for "I Make A Fool Of Myself" so there may be one for "Can't Take My Eyes Off You")

I don't know if there was a stereo promo for CTMEOY. Mine is a yellow (not white) label version of the commercial single.

Thanks for checking into your other CD sources, Bill. It's interesting you mention there's additional stereo reverb on the Greatest Hits Volume 2 disc, yet all database CD appearances of "Can't Take My Eyes off You" are also in stereo. So I wonder why Rhino elected to add the extra reverb on the Greatest Hits Volume 2 CD, unless of course this is reflective of the original LP mix or a stereo DJ 45 (if one exists)?

It always seemed to me that Greatest Hits Volume 2 (and volume 1) used different sources than other CDs. It was as if Rhino just used the masters that were used to create the Time Life 1962-1967 Four Seasons release.

So it's very possible then that the extra reverb may also appear on some or all of the song's Time-Life CD entries.
Speaking of which, is there currently an database listing for the Time-Life 4 Seasons 1962-1967 release Bill references?

The 4 Seasons 1962-1967 cd has been in the database for years. The song "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" is not included on this cd (at least on my copy).
