TED NUGENT - "Cat Scratch Fever"

I have compared the "3:36" length file from the LP "Cat Scratch Fever"(Japanese pressing) with the US commercial 45 (Epic 8-50425, The acrual & the listed time 3:04).
The 45 has an edit and a fadeout. The range of the edit point is 2:36-2:44 on the LP version. And it needs a ending cut, a fadeout and a speed-up.

Would you compare the 45 with the US pressing LP version on the vinyl or the CD?

Right now, the song has a 'length' designation. Is it really an edit?

Yes. I rechecked. Surely US commercial 45 has an edit. If the US pressing "Cat Scratch Fever" LP is the same as the Japan pressing one. A "length" designation should be changed into "version."

Yes Abagon, there really is an edit where you indicate so there is a true 45 vs LP distinction.

Discovered the same thing as Abagon, because I didn't check the forum first.

The edit removes the 16 beats from the last snare in the fill at 2:38 (just before the downbeat) to the crash cymbal 2:45 (also just before the downbeat).

My mono/stereo promotional 45 of Cat Scratch Fever by Ted Nugent is confirmed as Epic 8-50425 with both sides giving a listed time of (3:04). The stereo side does indeed run (3:04) but the mono side runs (3:02). It fades out at the exact same point and the time difference is caused by the fact that the mono side is slightly sped up.

The mono side also contains a slightly different lyric at about the 2:04 point (he sings "well I make those kitties purr" instead of, well, the common lyric).

Handwritten Matrix on the stereo side is ZSS-163168-1B and on the mono side is ZSP-163167-1A.

Revisiting this song, particularly the mono promo version
with the alternate lyric at 2:04, did AM radio stations
play that version or did all radio play the more common
stereo 45 version?

John, in Houston KILT, KRBE, KAUM all Top 40 played the
edit, even though 2 of the stations were stereo. If I
remember they edited in the mono lyric. WLS, KAAY and
even XEROK played the mono. I listened at night.
