Hi folks. Here's one about a song that didn't hit the top 40, yet we all know the song anyway (at least I *think* we do).
I was given a YouTube link to Rundgren's "Bang The Drum All Day" as part of a discussion on another message board (related to sports). Saw that the "video" (which is just a picture of a Rundgren album along with a speeded up version of the song) runs (3:32). While looking at E-Bay for an image of the 45, I saw that the printed time on the label was also (3:32).
The version currently loaded on my iPod runs (3:38). Is it safe to assume that it needs speeding up to match the 45, or is my time right and the video and record label are wrong?
Thanks!

Doug, my promo 45 is also listed as (3:32) and its stereo side runs an actual (3:33). The track from the Rhino Anthology (1968-1985) CD runs (3:35).
The only difference between the two is an additional 1.7-seconds at the end of the fadeout on the CD track. The 45 fadeout ends with the words "bang on the drum all" and the CD provides an additional "day" and six quick drumbeats as the hiss and hum take over.
