I talked to Pat about posting this. We know that this site could be easilly junked up with commercial interests or private sales which is why posting such things is not allowed. Pat's allowing this one exception. Record Finders of Richmond is moving it's warehouse which is a monsterous job. 3 or 4 million records are in there. (There is no actual count)

So they are trying to unload stuff fast. The overstock 45s that used to sell for a dollar are being sold for ten cents a piece.

It took me forever to go through the overstock while I lived in Richmond and I can tell you that there is a lot of great stuff in there of interest to this group. Singles from the 50s into the 90's.

I visited just last weekend and pulled out 40 singles, at a dime a piece. Trust me, I didn't pull out all the good stuff. Everyone's tastes are different, I pull out a lot of 60's and 70's but there are a lot of dupes of what I pull out and tons of 80's in there, picture sleeves and all. These are all used 45s except sometimes you'll find a mint 45.

There is no organization of these 45s, except once in a while you might find a box that's all Country. They are in long cardboard boxes.

I have attached the link with the details and you'd have to get to Richmond this weekend, or maybe Labor Day weekend before these are gone.

You'd have to do this by appointment and while there are hundreds of thousands of these, you never know if some Record Store owner from Chicago might walk in and buy them all. So you'd have to check to make sure they were still available before you make the trip.

I will ask Pat to remove this post in a week or so if find out that most of the stuff is gone.

Last note: If you decide to visit you have to follow rules the proprieter sets up or you'll be shown the door.

Last chance on a lot of this stuff gang! 90% of my posts from the last couple of years have come from me picking up stuff from this warehouse.

Just out of curiosity - what are the propieter's rules you must follow while shopping in order not to be kicked out the door??

There is a showroom in the front of the warehouse, that's like a typical record store, everything is priced and you buy what you want. IF he decides to let you go in the warehouse itself to look at more overstock there are lots of things in the warehouse that you're not allowed to touch and if you do, you're gone. Mostly the stuff that's numbered and filed, or the mountains of LPs that they haven't gone through yet. Very few people are allowed back there, they are making an exception to try to get rid of some of the overstock.

The overstock is all up on top of LP and 45 isles and it's very high, so you have to be healthy enough to pull down big long cardboard boxes filled with 45's without dropping them. All it will take is one or two people to be a problem for him and he'll stop doing this. You are being "trusted".

Almost every time I'm in the warehouse I hear somebody say OH MY GOD!. That's because somebody in the store decided to show a new customer "the warehouse"!
