According to the database, The Ataris' "Boys of Summer" has a run time of 4:17 on its parent CD So Long, Astoria (Columbia 86184), but runs only 4:01 on the Now 14 various artist disc (Sony Music Entertainment 90753). I'm pretty certain the song was never issued as a commercial single release, so does anyone know if the 4:01 length on the Now 14 CD is a radio edit, an early fade of the LP length, or something else?

That's the Radio Edit from the promo CD single. It runs 4:01 on my Promo Only compilation. It's been a while since I've listened to it, but I recall that it ended cold (cold fade), which would indicate it must be an edit.

Pat:
Just a friendly reminder... The 4:01 version of the Ataris' "Boys of Summer" appearing on the Now 14 CD in the database should have a "radio edit" comment listed next to it.
