When "Mmmbop" was a hit, I heard a few stations (as well as the syndicated Open House Party) playing an uptempo dance version. Back in 1997, I must've bought every import CD single I could find trying to find this version, which none of them had. I finally came across it on a TM Century HitDisc, where it is labeled as "Club Radio Mix." The actual name of the mix is the "Berman Brothers Radio Mix," which also appears on the US 12".
Apparently there was a promo CD released with dance mixes. It does not have a catalog number, but it lists these tracks:
1. MMMBop (Berman Bros. Radio Mix)
2. MMMBop (Soulful Mix)
3. MMMBop (Hex's Pop Radio Mix)
4. MMMBop (Dust Bros. Mix)
5. MMMBop (Radio Version)
The actual run time of the "Berman Bros. Radio Mix" from the TM Century CD is (3:16). The 12" single lists it as (3:17). It might be worth noting in the database, since this version received some airplay back in the day.

We played the Berman Bros. mix on our Saturday night mix show during the song's chart run, though ISTR the run time around 5 minutes. I don't have the actual CD, but I did make a CD-R copy of this, I'll check length when I get a chance.

Hykker, there is a longer Berman Bros. Mix, which I believe is called the Berman Bros. Club Mix. This was issued on the US 12" single, too. At least, it's listed online as being on a US 12" single. I don't own a copy to confirm.

We only received in one promo CD single for this song back in 1997, are here are the details:
-Hanson-"MMMBop" (MECP 200)
1-Radio Version (listed 3:50; actual 3:58)
2-Dust Brothers Mix (listed & actual 4:29)
3-Dub Version (listed & actual 4:20)
4-Album Version (listed & actual 4:27)
I have had no luck so far finding the 5-track promo CD single Aaron that has cited in this topic's original post; I will keep looking.

Thanks for your details, Jim! I have a feeling the dance mixes promo for "Mmmbop" is very rare and was probably only serviced to a select group of DJs/stations who had "mix shows." I generally only heard this mix during Saturday Night specialty programming. Hot Mix was another syndicated service that used the Berman Bros. mix quite a bit.

I have and european single serviced to my radio station by polygram that includes only the "single Version" and runs 3:50, on TM Century Hit Disc 194A they include the "radio Version" and at that time we also purchase ProAudio USA music services and they include the "album version", we used to play the "single Version".

A point of clarification regarding Hanson's "MMMBop"... The database currently indicates that the actual cassette single running time is (3:50). As Ed reported previously, the cassette single has an actual run time of (3:58), not (3:50) as stated on the label. The 3:58 run time is right in line with the two database CD appearances of the single version to date.

By the way, I have since picked up a copy of the rare promo CD with remixes. If anyone wants timings for the above tracks, I'll be happy to pull it out and time them.
