My TM Century CD has a version for "Love Of A Lifetime" called Lifetime Cut Short. I would presume this is directly from the promo CD. If my memory serves me correctly, it is just an early fade of the full-length version.

The only versions I have on CD for this song run the 4:45
length. They're Hot Hits Pop Vol. 7, Rock On
1991 and the 2-CD Midnight Rock.

There is another promo CD that is a 2-track. I don't own it, but I recently saw it on eBay. The track listing is:
1. Lifetime Cut Short
2. Longer Lifetime

Did we ever get to the bottom of whether or not there is a shorter radio edit/length of Firehouse's "Love of a Lifetime"? The "Lifetime Cut Short" version Aaron references on one of the promo CD single releases seems to suggest there may be.

I can also now report that cassette single copies of Firehouse's "Love of a Lifetime" have an actual run time of 4:46. (There is no printed time on the cassette. Thanks goes out once again to Edtop40.)

I just discovered that the two versions on the promo CD single, labeled as "Lifetime Cut Short" and "Longer Lifetime", are both slightly different mixes from the LP mix.
Listen around 1:02 for the tambourine that kicks in at the last half of the word "wonder". In the LP mix, the tambourine is there, but is mixed pretty far back. In the promo CD single versions, that tambourine is way out in front.
There may be other mix differences, too; I didn't check too closely after finding the 1:02 difference.
FYI, I have the LP mix on:- the jukebox promo CD Hot Hits Pop Vol. 7 (1991) - I assume that this is a digital clone of the Firehouse CD, but can't confirm because I don't have it
- Madacy's Rock On 1991 (1997) - digitally exactly 0.4-ish or 0.5-ish dB quieter than Hot Hits
- Time-Life's Guitar Rock Vol. 26 Power And Passion (1999) - a little more compressed than earlier discs
- Sony's Hits Of 1991 (2000) - about 3.5 dB louder and possibly some minor compression/limiting added to Hot Hits
- Warner Special Products' 2-CD Midnight Rock (2000) - differently-EQ'd digital clone of Hot Hits
- Realm's 3-CD Bang Your Head 100% Pure Metal (2002) - sounds very close to Guitar Rock
- Realm's 3-CD Ultimate Love Classics Vol. 2 (2002) - sounds very close to Guitar Rock and is digital clone of other Realm disc

I just checked my 45, it also contains the 4:45 (4:47
listed) version.
