although not in the db because it was an airplay only hit, the song "wishing i was there" by natalie imbruglia was a big hit, peaking at #25 in the summer of 1998...i have a promo cd single for the song issued as rca rdj 65498-2 with the below tracks
1-remix radio edit (3:54 listed; 3:54 actual)
2-transister remix (3:33 listed: 3:33 actual)
3-lp version (3:52 listed 3:51 actual)

I'm not sure I'd consider something that peaked at #25 a "big hit". Mid-charter at best. A disappointing IMHO follow up to "Torn" (which was IIRC the #1 song of 1997).
I think we played the "transister remix".

The album version starts with the electric guitar centered and then the acoustic guitar on the left. The "Remix Radio Edit" starts with the electric guitar quickly panning from right to left and back again, and then the acoustic guitar on the right. Otherwise they sound quite similar.
