I have Imani Coppola's "Legend of a Cowgirl" on my Promo Only Mainstream Radio CD subscription series and the track runs 3:40, which is :07 shorter than the song's lone full-length CD entry. Is the shorter length on the Promo Only disc a reflection of what's on the promo single? Or is this perhaps the result of the mastering engineer at Promo Only manually potting down the song early?

Incidentally, Ed says his commercial CD single states "Radio Version" and runs 3:44.

Nice irony here, as I briefly pause from my 1966 45 timings to provide both promo and commerical CD single details for a 1997 hit sampling Donovan's #1 hit from 1966, "Sunshine Superman". Todd, not surprisingly, my (3:44) commercial CD's "Radio Version" timing details also exactly match up with Ed's findings. I don't know where Promo Only got that (3:40) version from - your "early fade" theory could be dead-on. Curiously, the (3:47) "full version" timing you cite (which I assume you got from the original Album Version) does not appear anywhere, on either my promo or commercial CD singles.

-Imani Coppola-"Legend Of A Cowgirl" (CSK 1736)
1-Radio Version (listed 3:44; actual 3:43)

-Imani Coppola-"Legend Of A Cowgirl" (44K 78652)
1-Radio Version (listed & actual 3:44)
2-ZA-ZA PAU Mix (listed & actual 5:01)
3-Prince Paul Mix (listed & actual 4:06)
4-In The.., Jim, Mix (listed & actual 5:53)
