This song fell a few slots below the top 40 (at least in Billboard), but I'm hoping this board's experts can answer this. I have the single (which is a single version) but have across two other versions on CD, that time out at:
4:22
6:23
I'm guessing the 6:23 version is the 12" single (and it could possibly be the album version, too). And I'm guessing the 4:22 version is either the album version or a "faded early" version of the album version. Can anyone verify what these versions are?

Gordon, here's what I have on vinyl: (listed times)
(2:49) "stereo short version", backed with
(3:42) "stereo long version", Atco 7038 DJ 45.
(3:42) Atco 7038 stereo commercial 45.
(5:26) Lady Bump LP, Atco 130 (has a bad skip at the beginning, but the listed time was pretty close to what I got. I didn't time the 45s.)

Wow, the 2 versions I have on CD remain a mystery then.
I guess the 6:23 version must be a 12" single. (Does anyone own one on vinyl?)
And the 4:22 version - I have no idea what that is - maybe the album version faded early.

I just bought a UK 3-CD set called "Greatest Ever Bubblegum Pop", and while I'd argue that not every song on here qualifies as Bubblegum Pop, it does contain the 3:42 version of "Lady Bump" by Penny McLean - so the single edit is finally available on CD, albeit import.
