My commercial 45 for this song (confirmed as Chess 1932) seems to suffer from the exact same pressing-plant error as did one other song I've reported on within the past year, and I'll try my best to make my explanation as understandable as possible. First off, the actual time of my 45's hit side is (3:17), which now brings it into line with the vast majority of its current database CD appearances, which run between (3:14) and (3:16). FYI, the listed time for this song in the latest RR Hot 100 Annual is (3:05). If I were you, Pat, I would state in your db note that "the actual 45 time is (3:17), not (3:05) as shown on the 45", because I believe that most 1966 commercial 45 labels (like Mr. Whitburn's copy) show the info just that way. However, while MY particular commercial 45 copy does show the correct TITLE for each 45 side, it wrongly lists both the listed timing and deadwax info for the 45's flip side ("Once Again") on it as well! In other words, the deadwax and listed time info for "Once Again" ("12869" and "2:24") appear on the "Sitting In The Park" label, while the "Sittng In The Park deadwax/listed times ("13618 and "3:05") appear on the label for the "Once Again" side. This is further confirmed by the fact that the actual run time for "Once Again" is exactly (2:24). Bottom line: the only major change I believe that you need to modify your db with is the note that the "intended" listed 45 time of (3:05) is actually (3:17). Whew!
