I couldn't find a topic on this yet.

Has the cold ending version been released on CD or digital download?

This is a quote from its Wikipedia page: "The song was released as downloadable content for the music video game series Rock Band on March 31, 2009.[10] Unlike the album version which slowly fades to quiet, the Rock Band version ends with "Don't Stop", which is the same way it ended in the final episode of The Sopranos and in the pilot episode of Glee as well as how Journey ends the song live."

I suppose you could dub a copy off the video game, but I don't know how that'd sound.

Thanks!

I've definitely heard the song end cold live. The Sopranos ending just cuts the song abruptly before it starts to fade. I don't know what it sounds like on the video game. Is there a unique ending on it?

Don't know what made me think about it, but I decided to watch a couple videos of people playing Rock Band to this song. It's interesting to hear the song play out all the way to the cold ending.

Obviously with video games like Rock Band, the producers have to get copies of the multi-track tapes for the game. Even more fascinating is when the game player "does nothing" and the song is missing the lead guitar, for example.

There's no way to dub the song from the game and make it sound good, though. Crowd noise has been added throughout the track, since it's supposed to be a "live" rock concert setting.
