Last year Sony/BMG UK released a twenty volume series, The Best Year Of My Life, with one volume for each year from 1970 through 1989. I don't recall it being mentioned on this board yet. The series is available on iTunes in Canada, so it likely is in the US as well.
The series contains some hard-to-find 45 versions (although all but Jermaine Jackson's "Do What You Do" have been issued in the US in their 45 form), including:
Carry On Wayward Son - Kansas
Hold The Line - Toto
The Final Countdown - Europe
How 'Bout Us - Champaign
Shake Your Body (Down To The Ground) - Jacksons
She's Not There - Santana
Could It Be Magic - Barry Manilow
Amazing Grace - Royal Scots Dragoon Guards
Give Me Your Love - Barbara Mason
I Can't Stand the Rain - Eruption
Living in America - James Brown
I haven't yet determined whether GQ's "Rock Freak" or The Bangles "Hazy Shade Of Winter" are the elusive 45 versions/mixes.
Unfortunately, Deniece Williams' "Free", Earth Wind & Fire's "Let's Groove", and Marvin Gaye's "Sexual Healing" are incorrectly identified as the "single" versions (although they may be the UK single versions).
The two Milli Vanilli tracks are also not the US 45 versions.

iTunes in the U.S. does not have this.

The 1988 edition of UK's 'The Best Year Of My Life' lists "Tell It to My Heart (single mix) - Taylor Dayne" as one of its songs. I recall comparing the 45 to the original Taylor Dayne CD and thought that the 45 was EQ'd brighter but not a different mix. Was the US 45 a different mix? Was the UK 45 a different mix? No one here has reported anything about there being a single mix of this song, although Taylor's "Greatest Hits" CD is listed in the database as having a remix.
