The commercial 45 version is longer than the LP. The LP version has cold ending.

The 45 data,
Virgin 7-99428
actual 3:43. listed 3:44.

The LP data,
title "The Other Ones" Virgin 1-90576
actual 3:31. listed 3:32.

There are also other unique sections on the 45. It's been a long time
since I compared the two, but the single version has differences other
than the ending.

This is one of those Top 40 hits that I dont recall ever hearing on the
radio except for AT40, which played the single version.

Funny, i too only remember it on the countdown for the weeks it was out... very little or at all on the pop station.
I had a promo 12" single for this, and it had several versions, pretty sure one was the single edit...
It's possible/probable, even, that the single was an edit of the 12" mix.
It was definitely different mix than the LP.

Sorry that's all i have from memory.

The lone database CD appearance of The Other Ones' "Holiday" is the 45 version. According to my research, the LP version has only appeared on the band's self-titled 1987 CD, which is long out-of-print and unfortunately even used copies are currently going for no less than 50 bucks online.

Seems like this could be an excellent reissue candidate for the Wounded Bird label.

Retraction: I have the CD, but can't quite tell where it's
from.

There's no indication of what country it's from, except a
STEREO GEMA above the CD logo. Germany? Not sure.

Anyway, it's Virgin CDV2404, with 257 933 222 printed
underneath. It's most likely one pressing that was used
worldwide.

interesting note--there is 12" version of this song. I recently acquired it on the polystar CD Maxi-Power: Best of Miami.

Their orginal self-titled album "The Other Ones," which contains "Holiday," is on iTunes. This should be the LP Version, no?

I think I heard it once or twice on a small-market station while on a road trip, but that's about it.

Amazing how some songs that no one seems to remember hearing on the radio were bigger chart hits than other songs that seemed to be everywhere.
