This has been asked in two unrelated Chicago song posts, so I'm giving it it's own. The DB indicates LP length on most entries and one 45 version that "should" run 4:18, is it simply a fade or is there something hokey about the beginning as well? TIA

There was another thread on this (hard to find because Ed spelled "Chicago" wrong :) ). I've bumped it for your convenience.

Nice tip, Ed! I didn't think you could edit the thread title but I just
figured out how: Edit the first post.

You learn something new every day. I didn't know you could edit subject headers five years after the fact.
/Also didn't know you had fat fingers, but we'll talk about that later. :)

The vinyl LP, Chicago VII, has this track seguing into the next selection which I call the LP version. The 45 fades out completely so I call that the 45 version. Many cd's were mastered to let the song run slightly longer than the 45 and then fade before seguing into the next track so I call this the LP length. Thus there is an LP length, LP version and 45 version.

Yes the 45 does fade during the guitar solo so I guess it should be called 45 length since I am calling other longer cd versions LP length.
