my commercial 45 for the routers song "let's go (pony)"
issued as warner 5283 states the run time on the label as
2:15 but actually only runs 2:12 and is a fade of the full
length 2:16 version.....if you fade for 0:12 from 2:00 to
2:12, you'll effectively re-create the proper vinyl 45
version....btw, the 2:16 version has a cold ended while the
45 fades out...the 45 is mono while the cd version i used
is stereo....

Ed, do the drums sound different to you? They seem to have a lot more 'punch' on the 45, but I can't determine if it's because of added reverb or whether it's a different drum track altogeher. The 45 also has considerable reverb on the handclaps.

i just gave the track another listen and they sound the
same to me......except for the mono/stereo
differences...the drums sound the same as well as the hand
claps....what you may be hearing is just the anomalies of
comparing a stereo version to a mono version.....but what i
look for when A/B'ing tracks.....is that all the elements
of the song are present......and in this case i believe
they are.....i think it's just how the elements are
packaged that is making it 'sound' different but it's
not......just one man's opinion, though.....anyone else
want to drop their 2 cents in?
