The other day, I was listening to a local Adult-leaning Top 40 station and I heard a version of Jennifer Lopez featuring Pitbull's "On the Floor" that I'd never heard before... In this particular version, Pitbull's rap passages were all completely removed and replaced with new verses sung by Jennifer Lopez. Is anyone familiar with this version? If so, what is it called and did it appear on an official promo CD single and/or radio-only digital download?

Todd, NOW 79 in the UK has a rap-free version by J Lo that runs 3:41, as compared to the version with Pitbull that runs 3:51. Have you heard that version? I can't find a name for this particular version on the internet.

I haven't heard the rap-less version on the Now 79 UK CD so unfortunately I can't comment on whether it's the same one I recently heard for the first time ever on my local radio station.

I'm guessing that pitbull was added to the record after it was recorded because Jennifer MUST have a hit comeback in conjunction with American Idol, since he's SO hot these days that he ends up on pretty much every radio hit sooner or later (i exaggerate, kind of).
Too bad they removed that bridge from the Pitbull version, because I really like it, but the song does not have the same party punch without his added vocals. However, you can get the non-Pitbull, added bridge version in its extended form on this compilation

I really only listened to the Pitbull-free version on my iPod so I had to check both versions to see what the differences were. In the rap version, Pitbull raps from about 3:06 to 3:25. In the non-rap version, at 2:58, J Lo sings, "break it off / kick it up / raise the roof, wreck the dancehall / light it up / make some noise." Is that the extra verse you are referring to, Todd?

For the DJs out there that subscribe to the 'Promo Only Mainstream Radio' series, it is on the March 2011 issue.
On this disc it is tagged "PO Clean No Pitbull Edit"
