Does anyone know if the mono 45 version of this is available on any import CDs? I see several Bent Fabric imports, but can't find out their contents.

The sad thing is that Tom Daly, mastering engineer for Eric Records, wanted to use the mono 45 mix on one of their compilations, but the owner Bill Buster nixed it in favor of the stereo album version, which has been issued on several CDs before. >:(

Brian,
You might check out the following CDs:
"Ultimate Party Survival Kit" - Sony 67311
"Greatest Piano Hits" - GNP Crescendo 2253
The clips of "Alley Cat" by Bent Fabric that I
heard appear to be in original mono, but I can't
guarantee it. It may have been the way the clip
transferred for sampling on the website. There
were a few more discs I found but no way to
verify if they are original versions and whether
or not they're mono or stereo.
The discs are available through Amazon.com.
Good Luck in your search.

Pat lists all those in the databse as the stereo album version. Thanks for trying, though.

I'm also noticing a big speed discrepancy between the mono 45 and the stereo LP version. It's way off. Anybody know anything about this?

Robert, the 45 and stereo LP versions are a different recording, the 45 being shorter.

The original Atco mono 45 shows a label time of 2:23 and that's exactly what it is!

Has anyone come across a multi-cd collection called: "Class of '62 - The Golden Days of Rock 'N'Roll?"

Alley Cat appears on Disc 2.

Hmm, I did find a site that lists the running time of that song as 2:24, which is more in line with the single running time than the LP. Doesn't necessarily mean anything, though.

I'll bump up eriejwg's question: Has anyone heard this CD? It's a 4-disc set that I won on Ebay three weeks ago, and now the seller tells me IT'S LOST. He says he shipped it DHL, but looked it up and there's no record of it in the DHL system, and he doesn't have it in the store. He says DHL must have lost it and he'll have to issue me a refund (which I have yet to get). So I'm pretty pissed off.

I have located another copy for sale, but I'm wondering if anyone has heard it. I don't want to plunk down 24 bucks if it's not the single version. There is a website where you can download MP3s ripped from the album, but, uh-uh, I ain't doin' that, not these days. I've seen the time listed as 2:24 on the download site, which would be correct for the single version, but a copy in a Wisconsin library on WorldCat lists the time as 2:30.
