Was there ever an official, factory-pressed promo CD for "Crazy In Love"? I've only seen Columbia CD-Rs in two different configurations, and I don't own either one:

1. Single Version
2. No Rap Version
3. Call Out Hook

AND

1. Album Version
2. No Rap Version

On import CDs, the single version has a printed time of 4:11, while the album version has a printed time of 3:55. All copies I've ever heard run 3:55, just like the album. Anyone know the difference between the "Album Version" and "Single Version"?

My Canadian 3-track CD single has it running 3:55.

There are at least two other promo CD-Rs in addition to the ones I listed above. One of them contains the following printed tracks:

1. Album Version (no listed time)

The other one I actually own, and it has the following:

1. W/O Rap (listed & actual 3:47)

Not only is this a rapless version, but it doesn't contain Jay-Z at all, even on the ad-libs. He has been completely removed from the mix.

Ha! I don't mind Jay-Z, and his rap on this song doesn't bother me. I do suspect, however, that the "W/O Rap" will become Beyoncé's favorite mix if she should ever get a divorce.

By the way, if anyone has the 4:11 "Single Version," I would love to know what the difference is from the slightly shorter 3:55 version.

The 3:55 version just fades earlier than the 4:11 version (actual time 4:09) on my CD single. There doesn't appear to be any other differences between the two that I can detect.

I forgot to say thanks, Bwci Bo, for posting the difference between the album and single versions. I just today received an import promo CD single with all three versions (Album, No Rap, Single). I usually don't buy import CDs, but since a factory-pressed US promo doesn't exist, I figured I'd buy one. Timings for the three mixes on this import promo are 3:55, 3:45, and 4:11. There are no printed times. I also agree that the album version is an early fade of the single version.
