My U.S. commercial 45 of "Shaggy Dog" by Mickey Lee Lane (Swan 4183) states the run time as (2:13), but I timed it at (2:18).

Our commercial 45 states a run time of (2:13). (BTW, the title in the subject line is mis-spelled as "Dogg")

Thanks, Paul. I've corrected the three errors I made in my twenty-five word original post. Please let me know if you found a fourth!

Okay, now it makes more sense! Thanks for the correct time(s). I didn't realize that Mickey Lee Lane died back in 2011. I usually keep pretty good track of the deaths for artists in our books, put his slipped past me!

Last year, I was trying to create a playlist of One-Hit Wonders from the 1960s and this song kept eluding me. I finally found a cheap copy of the "Oldies I Forgot to Buy" CD.

But, frustratingly, there was, and is, a verion of this song on iTunes that runs 2:49. Does anybody know the source of this version? I'm assuming it's some type of re-recording but it's got a Swan label.

I had the long version, too. I heard the song on an old radio aircheck and it sounded the same to me so I just cut it down to 2:18 and did an early fade. I don't recall any edits, but I could be wrong
