I only have the album version of this on CD - I want to make a WAV of the single version. What was edited out to make the single? It seems like just a small difference (8 or 10 seconds) but I'd still like to know.

I don't think the 45 was an edit. I think the instrumentation was different (although the vocal take was the same). IIRC, the LP version also has a tacked on ending, but even removing it wouldn't produce anything close to the single (and would just make the file sound bad).

ETA: Listening to my copy from T-L's "Singers And Songwriters: The Late '70s" (one of the few times a 45 version was used in that series), the 45 version has no strings, while the LP does (or a keyboard simulating strings) pretty much throughout the song.

The LP version of "I'm Easy" is a completely different recording, for a different label. Yes, only the LP version has the cheesy-sounding ARP String Ensemble.

If the recording is completely different, I'm amazed how similar the vocal is.
