the cd i have of bobby vee titled 'legendary masters
series' issued as emi 92774 lists 26 tracks on the cd and
rear insert but when loaded into itunes it contains 28
tracks and many that aren't listed on the cd or
insert....does anyone own this cd and could pull it and
see if they have the same issue as i do....the song 'be
true to yourself is listed as tracks #18 on the rear
insert as well as the cd face, but isn't on the cd
itself...very bizarre...

Is this an itunes issue, perhaps? What do you see and hear when you play the disc on a regular CD player?

My copy of this same Legendary Masters Series CD correctly shows 26 tracks in several CD players, as well as Exact Audio Copy and Sound Forge. Track 18 plays "Be True To Yourself."

BTW, the version of Bobby's 1966 #52 hit "Look At Me Girl" on this CD (track 21) is missing the high harmony overdub heard on the 45 during the repeated title hook as it heads into the fade.

Ed:
My copy of this disc has 26 tracks and number 18 is "Be
True To Yourself." I probably have this copy for two
decades now.

My copy likewise has 26 tracks with track 18 being "Be True To Yourself". It has stock # CDP-7-92774-2. The deadwax is CDP 7 92774 2 RE1 L0126F 1-3-5 CAPITOL JAX 12 C

This is a 1990 release copy.

Same here. Even after I loaded it into iTunes. (Though I
didn't load track #26, which was a promo, not a song.)

My copy matches TomGary's.

I don't have this CD, but I have an old review of the CD which states that early pressings were missing Track 26 (the Bobby Vee radio spot) and that EMI corrected this on subsequent pressings. But it looks like there were multiple problems with the early pressings.
