Can someone confirm that the 45 edited out the word "asses" at 4:45? Was it a bleep? Were there any other edits? thanks.

My original 45 (Kama Sutra 576) does have the beep (or bleep, or
tone, or dooot) over "asses". They beep out the whole song, not just
the vocal track, and there are no edits.
By the way, I was always curious; on the label, it says it's a Dual
"45". Did that mean it was compatible for mono or stereo, or did it
refer to something else? The 45 itself is in stereo.

The promo 45, which most top-40 stations played, had a few entire lines excised (including the aforementioned "asses" verse).

That was a good edit version that I'd like to see on CD some day.

Can it be made from the LP?

Hi Doug,

By my memory it can be made from the LP version, but I haven't tried yet!

Yes you can make the DJ edit from the LP version. Several edits but not that hard to make.

Since I don't have the 45, care to share what edits I'd need to make?

Well.. easier to do if you have the DJ 45 as your guide.. at some edit points they cut on a beat, others at a guitar lick. I can mp3 it to you. Look me up in the directory and hit me up. Might take a day or two for me to transfer it.
