Another rock hit that missed the top 40 in 1981.
Instructions for reproducing the 45 edit, using
Greatest Hits Ten Years And Change 1979-1991 as
the source:
Remove the 16 beats from 0:00.0 to 0:07.1 of the LP
version.
Segment 1:
40 beats long.
Begins and ends on a downbeat.
Extends from 0:00.0 to 0:16.9 of the 45 edit.
Extends from 0:07.1 to 0:24.0 of the LP version.
Remove the 32 beats from 0:24.0 to 0:37.5 of the LP
version.
Segment 2:
Begins and ends on a downbeat.
Extends from 0:16.9 to 3:15.9 of the 45 edit.
Extends from 0:37.5 to 3:36.5 of the LP version.
Remove the 48 beats from 3:36.5 to 3:56.8 of the LP
version.
Segment 3:
Begins on a downbeat.
Extends from 3:15.9 to 4:04.6 (end) of the 45 edit.
Extends from 3:56.8 to 4:45.5 (end) of the LP version.
Your mixdown will run 4:02, with edits at 0:16.9 and
3:15.9.

Thanks, Ron, for both of these. Some of you might have guessed I was the one who asked. Until I saw his Hot 100 post, I didn't know these two had edited singles
(although I probably would've guessed the Starship song did).
