Stray Cats - Look At That Cadillac only made it to #68,
but as it's an 80s single that made it on to the
Billboard Hot 100, I'd like to add it to BlackLight
Radio.
The album version runs just over four minutes which
matches some, but not all, of the singles listed on
Discogs.
This page says EMI
America
– B-8194 was 4:01.
This page says
Arista – 106 271 ran 3:21.
There are three possibilities here:
#1, The European release of the single was edited from
the LP / U.S. single version.
#2, The U.S. label is wrong and the single was edited on
both continents.
#3, the European label is wrong and the single was not
edited on either continent.
Of course my primary concern is whether there was a U.S.
commercial edit or a U.S. radio edit.
Does anybody have this on vinyl and could check for me?
Thanks!

Gene, it appears that it is your "possibility #1". Both sides of my 1984 EMI
8194 US promo 45 include the same, listed (4:01), actual (4:00) version. I do
think that an edited version would've improved the song's chances to be a
bigger Hot 100 hit, but it was only issued here on 45, even to radio, in its
full length.

That's exactly what I needed to know; thanks, Jim!
