my commercial 45 for the linda scott song 'i don't know
why' issued as canadian american 129 lists the run time as
2:20 and does indeed run that length.....the db states one
of the cd running 2:23 has the correct speed
version.....which is incorrect.....the 45 runs 2:20...

This information came from Mark Matthews in his comments regarding the remastered version of Linda Scott's Complete Hits so I will defer to Mark to explain this discrepancy.

Ed, I confirmed for Pat that both CD's containing the song
run 2:20.
As for the 45 mix comment, that is correct but I
mistakenly told Pat it was "speed corrected" ... I got my
wires crossed, that was another song on the re-master. So
both CD's are running the correct speed.
I didn't remaster this disc, it was ably done by our other
engineer Walt Weiskopf. I couldn't recall all the things
he told me were updated on that remaster. Most of the
speed changes happened to non-charting singles.

Update: I made an error re-timing the re-mastered edition.
Pat pointed out there is a low reverb tail at the end of
the re-mastered edition, and this tail is longer than what
was on the 45 causing the time discrepancy.
Also, both entries run slightly slower than the 45, but
not enough to change the times. Hope this helps.
