Hello all. With the millions and millions (OK, I exaggerate, but not by much) of ᗅᗺᗷᗅ reissues, does anyone know if the North American single version, "Short Version" (3:45) has
even been issued on CD format? A few years ago, the "Extended Remix" (also a North American exclusive at the time of its release) was issued for the first time on CD.

I've never run across that version anywhere on CD,
although I've only encountered 2 or 3 import comps.
Just to clarify, the 3:45 edit was only issued as a promo
45. Commercial copies were all 5:08.
I only ever heard the longer one on the radio because only
the dance station played that one. Our local A/C stations
played "Angel Eyes" instead. Sadly the "Top 40" station
played neither.

Thanks, that's what I thought. The way ᗅᗺᗷᗅ continue to re-issue their material over and over again without anything new is kind of disgusting. The most useless release was
the 40-single box set... on vinyl and no CD format. That would've been an amazing box set to have on CD format. To add insult to injury, the box set came with a download
code for... MP3s. I would've bought it if it came with WAV or any type of lossless files. The Frida and Agnetha reissues also missed a couple of single versions.

On my copy of the CD Gold "Voulez Vous" doesn't run either 3:45 or 5:08 but 4.19. Is this the single version from a non US country?

I believe it was edited for Gold for space. However, later editions (1998? 1999?) include the full mix.

I see we have a # of new members asking for specific DJ 45 short v edit
points.
We do have a fair # of guys (like Ron aka Crap From The Past, and others)
who are able to note the edit points, often down to 1/1000th of a second,
through digital file analysis, and post that type of helpful reply.
Then there are folks like myself. I can't do any of that. But I do have an
awful lot of promo 45s. The way I am typically able to help answer such
questions has been to send out 45 dubs of my promo 45 to the question-
asker, where they can then analyze it, locate the desired edit poins, and
then hopefully provide "Ron-like details", in a follow-up thread post.
Unfortunately, the majority of new members (both "Kiefer2" and "JFive"
being among them - and welcome to Pat's board) haven't included an e-
mail address in their T4MOC profile. (Only fellow forum members can
access that info.) So I don't know where to send my dubs to.
So, Kiefer2, as soon as I have an e-mail addy for you (and the same
applies to you, JFive, as I also have a 45 dub of "Tom Sawyer", for your
recent query in that thread, to shoot out to you as well), I'm more than
happy to help you guys out the only way that I am able to - the low-tech
way.

Revisiting this one, Bill Cahill mentioned the promo
version runs 3:42. From what it appears, one edit and an
early fade to recreate the promo 45 short version. Using
the 5:09 version from Voulez-Vous:
Keep 0:00.00 to 2:11.57
Delete 2:11.57 to 2:49.588
With what you have left, do an early fade from 3:26-3:42
Run time: 3:42.
