Hi all,
I just joined Downey's site and am looking forward to delving into the
archives here and chatting with fellow music fans.
I help run a non-profit, low power oldies radio station in Dayton, OH.
One of our big goals is to track down the original, hit single version of
every song we play from the 50s, 60s, & 70s. So, we've been replacing
stereo Beatles with the original mono single versions, same for Motown,
etc.
Hopefully, this site and board will be a big help in hunting down some of
these rare versions.
I'm also an avid record collector, so I may be of some help too.

Hello and welcome! I've been a member for nearly 9 years
and find useful information every day.
I, too, search for the radio edits and single
versions/mixes to add or recreate for my library. The
database is invaluable. The board offers detailed
editing instructions in many cases.

Welcome Tony. Can we listen to your station via the internet? If so, please give us the info so we can find the station via the web.

Welcome. It's hard to believe I have been a member of the board for
nearly 10 years now. It is still my favorite place on the net and the
other members have provided me with priceless (and fast) information
on a topic I used to believe nobody else cared about.

Welcome, Tony! I believe you're the same Tony that hosts the IconFetch podcast, correct? You've had some fascinating guests on that show:)

Why yes, you can listen at daytonoldies.org. We also have an app
through the iTunes store that allows you to listen on your phone. We've
got over 7,000 songs in rotation, but the obscure ones rotate much
slower than the hits. Always in search of the authentic single version -
that's one reason I joined this site!
And - to answer another question, I do host the Icon Fetch podcast too -
I love finding out the stories behind the tunes :)
Tony
