Pat,
I have it from a reliable source (the guys from the Mantovani fan website) that the stereo recording found on "Golden Hits" (and perhaps those other CDs if it is indeed the same version) was recorded Tuesday 16 December 1958 and was issued on 33 rpm on Decca LK 4316/SKL 4067 and London LL 3117/PS 164 in 1959.
The original mono recording was done Monday 15 April 1957 and was issued on 45 rpm on Decca F 10888, London 45-1746. Reached no 12 in BB.
So you can indicate such (i.e., that the stereo is a remake or something).
I believe I have both versions and although very close are in fact slightly different.
