Listen Like Thieves by INXS only made it to #54 on the Billboard Hot 100, but it went to #12 on the rock charts.

Looking at Discogs, I find:

A 12" promo with the "Vocal/Live Version" labeled as running 4:14.

A 12" promo with the "Vocal/LP Version" labeled as running 3:43.

A 7" promo with the "Vocal/Edited Version" labeled as running 3:20.

(There is also aa 7" with the 3:43 LP version on it, which I suspect was the commercial 45.)

My question to the board is: in 1986, was radio playing the LP version, the 3:20 edit, or the "Vocal/Live Version?"

If they were playing the edit, does anybody know the edit points? Was it just an early fade?

If it was the live version, does anybody know if that has ever been released to CD?

Once again, Aaron comes through with the promo 7" Vocal / Edited Version!

They turned the 1st & 2nd verses into one long verse.

Take out 20.6 seconds starting on the downbeat of one at 20 seconds to 41 seconds.

From what's left, remove 4.1 seconds (yes, really) from 22.5 to 26.5 on the downbeat of four.

My final version, which runs a little slower than Aaron's and has silence at the end runs 3:23. Taking out silence at the beginning and end takes it down to 3:21, which is awfully close to the original record label.

I hope this helps somebody! Thanks again so much, Aaron.
