Is it possible that there are 2 mixes of this song? I have
the song on Billboard Top Soft Rock Hits 1970 and
on All-Time Greatest Hits, Vol. 1. I found a UK 45
on YouTube that matched the mix on the Billboard Disc. The
song seems lifeless on the Greatest Hits disc and seems to
lack in some of the instrumentation on the Billboard disc.
Could one be a 45 mix and one be an LP mix or am I
imagining things?

Ha! tis OK. Since no one else has commented, it probably
is my imagination, but the Billboard copy I have sounds
exactly like the UK 45 (at least.)

The All-Time Greatest Hits CD sounded very heavily noise
reduced to my ear. My USA RCA Victor 45 sounds superb. The
Billboard CD sounds very much like my old RCA 45 RPM
single.
