Hey guys, I found this Air Supply single from 1985 interesting.
According to the database, version 45 runs at (4:43) and not at (4:31) as stated on the disc label.
which matches the times of the album version.
Is there a difference in the mix of the 45 version and the LP version?
In 1985 it was published in Germany on 45 7" Promo, with a duration of 3:56, called "radio edition", a while ago I was able to listen to it on
youtube, but now I can't find it, however I could hear that it has an edition in the intro and an early fade.
- Does anyone know if this edited version was released on any cd?
- Does anyone have this version to confirm?
Just As I Am (radio edition) 3:56

I don't have the record in hand, but I found a vinyl rip of the edit and can confirm that it's as you recalled:
• Trim leading silence.
• Just before the 2 beat (the first snare), remove 2 bars from roughly 0:02.47 to 0:08.91 (encompassing four snare hits).
• Fade out 3:50 to 3:57, ending after "you always treat me".
The rip I found has no details of its provenance, but it includes regular B-side "Crazy Love", which makes me think it was in fact released on some retail edition, somewhere. Maybe the UK 7"?

Does anyone know - Was this promo version released in the US or just Germany?
I, too, would like to know if this version appears on CD. (Maybe a German compilation).

PS I did the edit on Just As I Am, and it just doesn't seem like a good place to fade, to my ears. The intro edit makes sense, as it's a bit long. But personally, I think they should have held out to Russell Hitchock's last "AAAAAAAAM" and fade when that note is over :)
