Hadn't heard of this before, so apologies if this is old news. Ran across this on Qobuz today, Hall & Oates Single Mixes digital album. Came out in 2018.

Oh, I guess they also have a matching Hall & Oates 12 inch Mixes to go with it:

Those are decent comps with only a couple "wrong" versions. "One On One" on the Single Mixes comp is the stock 45 version (early fade of LP mix). At one point it was labeled 7" Remix, but it appears they removed that designation. "Private Eyes" (UK Mix) is the same vinyl transfer used on the Japan 12 Inch Collection--a nice transfer but mastered with a lot of dynamic range compression. "Possession Obsession" (7" Remix) fades too early just like the Ultimate Collection CD. The mastering and transfers on the 12" mixes are the same ones used in 2003 on the Japan collection. They are brickwalled! But at least they got the correct version of "Adult Education," while the Japan CD is incorrectly labeled.

Curiously, which is the "correct" single version of AE? I only have a promo for this, one side has a cold intro,
the other side, noted as "edit" has a :20 intro. Both show 3:59 listed times.
Airplay seemed to run 60/40 toward the "edit", which is what we played.

I have to make a correction on my "correct version" statement. I thought the Japan 12 Inch Collection labeled the song "Special Club Mix," but that's not the case. It is properly labeled "Special Extended Mix." The commercial US 12" single, however, has the Special Club Mix (remixed by Jellybean), which is on the 2018 Extended Mixes compilation. The Special Extended Mix was promo only and remixed by Bob Clearmountain and Nile Rodgers.
As for the short versions, the US 7" has the one that starts cold. The "Edit" on the promo single replaces the intro with instrumental, perhaps for DJs to talk over. I was too young to recall what version I might have heard on the air, but I'm sure your memory is probably accurate, Hykker.
