My promo has the listed (4:08) (actual run time is 4:05) (UK Single Edit) on one side, and the listed and actual (4:37) (Full Force Single Edit) on the other (deadwax 1154-7-J-C). My station played the first one.

Jim:
Do you know if the UK Single Edit of "I Wanna Have Some Fun" found on the promo 45 is different from the commercial 45?

The deadwax info for both the stock and promo 45's listed (4:08) "UK Single Edit" is exactly the same, Todd.

There are several database CDs listed as "45 version" but actually only run (3:55), which is :10 shorter.

Can anyone account for the :10 discrepancy between the 3:55 and 4:05 versions?

Hopefully, have answered my own question. Wanting to see if I have any agreement with my observation.
In comparing the copies of this song I have from Hot Ladies Of The 80'sat 4:05 vs. the Samantha Fox Greatest Hits at 3:55, the 4:05 version has Samantha at the beginning of the song saying "Hello, it's me again..." and the Greatest Hits version starts with a male singing "Sa-Sa-Samantha Fox"
Would that then mean that all 3:55 listings in the database are missing the first :10?
Comments?

While I don't have the 3:55 version, I think you're onto something, eriejwg. The 3:55 CDs are probably "neither," unless someone has any other info to prove otherwise.

I see Pat has updated the database to reflect the 3:55 versions missing the first :10.

The "Full Force Single Edit" on the promo 45 is a simple edit of the LP version. There's about a 40 second chunk edited out, starting on the downbeat before the talking at (3:44). The edit jumps to the chorus ("I wanna have some fun...").
