My promo 45 has the "SIDE A" (3:50) stock 45 version on one side, and a "SIDE B", listed time (4:07), actual time (4:06) version on the other side (Deadwax VS 4 43024 BS DJ P1).

Thanks to Jim's promo 45 info above, the database states the following comment for Billy Idol's "To Be a Lover":
(dj copies of this 45 run (3:50) and (4:06))
Just wanted to add that abagon reports the actual and printed commercial 45 run time is 3:50.

Does anyone own the US 12" single? In addition to the "Mother of Mercy Mix," there is a non-described 4:07 version (listed time) on it. I'm wondering if it actually runs this length and is the same mix as the album version. If so, this would be the "long" side of the promo 45. There is a 16 second section edited out of the middle of the shorter single/LP version.

Aaron, I own two mint copies of the 12" single; they are both stock copies, but the one they sent to us at the station has (not surprisingly) a gold promo imprint pressed over the UPC symbol. I will be happy to send my spare stock copy 12" out to you (with that non-described 4:07 mix included) as a research tool/gift, for all your quality Board research, sir.

To Aaron:
I own the 12" single and I'm reasonably sure it's the same as the long promo 45 version (which is the LP mix but unedited).
When Jim sends you the 12-inch you can check if they're EXACTLY the same.
Andy
