i need the classes help here..........i know the db states that all the cd versions available are the lp mix......BUT..........i just listened to my cassingle, which states that the version on it is a "remix", and i can't hear any difference between this cassingle version and the version from "best of" issued as rca 66037.....if it is a remix, it is so slight, that it is indiscernible......anyone????

Ed, I have a copy of the "remix" from a rare Lita Ford promo. I do not have a copy of the LP version to compare, though. I seem to recall someone telling me (maybe on this board) that there are differences, but at present, I can't be of much help.

I believe the version on the 'Best Of' IS the single "remix".
The original album/CD 'Lita' had the original (slightly different) mix. (It was the second single from the album).

Actually Andrew, "Close My Eyes Forever" was the third of four singles from "Lita" album, though the second of two charters...
single 1 - Kiss Me Deadly
single 2 - Back To The Cave
single 3 - Close My Eyes Forever
single 4 - Falling In And Out Of Love
all were released with picture sleeves...

Since I don't have the original Lita CD/LP, what are the differences between the LP and 45 mix of "Close My Eyes Forever"?

I was curious too about the difference. I do have the "Lita" CD. I didn't want to confuse the issue, but when i first read this I took a moment and compared it to version on "Best Of" and to be honest I can't hear a single difference. I figured I am missing something?
Thanks for any info....

Hi people,
I finally had a chance to sit down and *actually* compare the promo CD ("remix")to the 'Best Of Lita Ford' version.
Notice how I said "I believe the version on the 'Best Of' IS the single 'remix'"?
I was going by my mental notes which are sometimes cloudy.
Here's my new take:
I think the "remix" is an *increased high-end" version of the version on 'Best Of'(which Mark Matthews says sounds just like the version on 'Lita'.
I hope I haven't confused you even more...
I'm beginning to think that RCA simply jacked up the treble to make it sound "hotter", slapped 'remix' on it, and a hit was made...
Andy

If the difference between the "remix" and the LP is EQ only, then is a 45 mix/LP mix designation really needed here? Perhaps Pat can offer his take on this.

Yes after reviewing all the versions again today I can't really say there is any difference other than a slight EQ difference which I would not consider a remix so I will change the entries in the database to elimintate and remix comments.

Yes, and the hardest one to find is "Back to the Cave". I had the other three for years but "...Cave" never turned up - until I finally got a copy at a record show last year.

A friend of mine worked at a local record store back then and they must've had about 20 copies of "Back To The Cave" of which they only sold 2 or 3. Every time a record would bomb my friend would say, "It could have been worse, it could have been Back To The Cave"!
