Here's another speed issue that our resident commercial single guru, Edtop40, has brought to my attention. His cassette single copy of Michael Morales' "What I Like About You" runs much faster than its LP counterpart. (I can actually remember when I first listened to the song on Morales' self-titled CD and swearing to myself that the song sounded quite a bit slower than how I'd heard it on the radio!) The 45 speed runs (2:57), while the LP speed runs (3:04). Therefore, it would probably be appropriate to have the comment: (LP speed) listed next to the song's lone CD appearance in the database.

I just bought a promo CD singles of this which has 3 versions of this song. The CD says a time of 2:58 and only lists the track once but when I put the CD in the player, 3 tracks come up and they are all "What I Like About You"

This was actually the first time I ever even heard the Michael Morales version of the song (bought it to have in my collection) so I have no idea of the difference in the 3 versions.

Does anyone else have this CD single and can maybe shed some light?

Thanks.

-Jeff

There was a similar promo CD single released at the time
for Ivan Neville's "Not Just Another Girl" - the same song
three times in a row. I believe that one was the 45 edit
on all three, but I don't have that single anymore.

My promo of Ivan Neville's "Not Just Another Girl" has just one track on it, despite the listing of two tracks on the back cover of the CD and on the
CD itself. I believe it's the 7" version that's on the CD. The only promo I have that has the same song repeated three times in a row is the one for
Vanessa Williams' "Just For Tonight".
