Although there's no notation in the database, at least some CD pressings of Arrested Development's debut album have the "Metamorphosis Mix" of "People Everyday" as a bonus track at the end. This is the only mix I remember hearing on the radio when the song was a hit, although it was played in an edited version which was shorter and removed instances of the "n" word.

While I don't think a domestic CD single was released, does anyone own the cassette single who can verify which version was on the A-side? Also, I have seen a couple different pressings of the import CD single, one of which has both the "Metamorphosis Radio Edit" and "Metamorphosis Radio Version" with respective printed run times of (4:09) and (4:05). Does anyone know the difference between these two?

the cassingle issued as chrysalis 50397 contains as the A-side two versions.....the first version on the A-side is the full 3:26 album version followed by the 4:52 version of the "metamorphosis mix".....the B-side contains a song called "children play with earth".....so, in my opinion, even though the metamorphosis mix was the much more frequently played version on radio AND mtv, the album version, the lead track, should be considered the single version....

For what it's worth, the 7" also features the album version with a listed time of 3:28

My copy of "3 Years, 5 Months and 2 Days In The Life Of..." does not contain a bonus track so for those looking for the bonus track version, could you pass along the matrix number?

Mine doesn't either, but I had a friend who owned a copy that did have the remix at the end.

While I generally agree with Ed that the lead track on a commercial single should be considered the "official" 45 version, I think the database should also acknowledge whenever a non-lead track on a commercial single features a more familiar version of a particular Top 40 hit, such as the case with the "Metamorphosis Mix" of Arrested Development's "People Everyday".
