The version of Jon B's 'Someone To Love' that appears on the recently released Sony-BMG set Chart Toppers (70s-90s) (which, curiously, contains no BMG material) and is described in the database as the DJ edit is also the edit that appeared on the commercial vinyl 45.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the DJ edit just an early fade of the full-length version?

The database does indicated that DJ copies run 4:05, but here are the full details of the promo CDs I have.
BSK 77895
1. Edit (listed 4:05; actual 4:06)
2. Album Version (listed 4:34
The "Edit" is an early fade of the LP version, which starts at 3:39. It's a long, drawn-out fade.
I also have a remix promo CD single, which is stated on the disc label as the "Insatiable Remix." This has no catalog number, but it's a factory-pressed, official Yab Yum/Sony 550 promo CD. All of the below tracks are various versions of the remix.
1. Radio Edit (listed 4:05)
2. Extended Version (listed 5:19; actual 5:18)
3. Instrumental (listed 4:03; actual 4:05)
Track 1 of this promo CD appears on both the maxi CD single and promo CD single of Jon B.'s follow up hit "Pretty Girl."
